current state:
- physical server windows Server 2008R2 domainjoined, logged in as domain administrator
- installed Starwind V2V-Converter 9.0 (Build 268), rebooted
- I start a P2V-conversion to Hyper-V Core Server 2019 "entire machine" or "physical disk"
- I enter the name of the destination core server, name of doamin administrator and password
- Access Denied (0x80070005)

what have I already tried:
- enabling SMBv1 on the target host
- copy files via Windows Explorer from physical Windows 2008R2 Server to Hyper-V 2019 Core server (works!)

Welcome to StarWind Forum. Did you try running P2V conversion on a Windows Server 2008R2 server?

Thank you, I edited my comment. Is it possible to convert a disk (e.g., any partition of the storage) as a local VMDK for test purposes?

Hello,

thank you for your reply!

A local conversion (disk or partiton) to a local file (*.vhdx) works without any errors

Greetings,

There could be something on authentication levels between two servers. You are always welcome. I am glad to know that the workaround worked.
Not sure if that's related to authentication-related but check these articles too.

Please make sure to have the same time on both servers. Can you RDP from one server to another?

Hello,

thanks for your reply!

Yes, I can RDP from Server 2008R2 to Hyper-V Core Server 2019 and copy files in both directions from one server to the other. Both servers are AD domain members and synchronize time from ad controller

I found this thread https://forums.starwindsoftware.com/vie ... v2v#p32208.
Is your network restricted? If so, try disabling temporarily the firewall as a quick smoke-test.
