I have seen some reference to native tiering in starwind back in 2017 that was in testing and roadmap for release. Was that scrapped?

I don't really want caching. I want block level tiering with ram for cache. Dedup would just be nice to have.

Ok I think I understand now. Starwind doesn't natively support tiering but relies on storage spaces to do the work. It also appears you no longer support dedup which is a bummer.

Can San and nas based on Linux do auto tiering and global dedup or is that something that is only supported by vsan? Nevermind. A failed RAID array on my controller appears to have been causing issues with the underlying Ubuntu operating system causing this odd behavior. I removed the arrays and now the reset button is working as expected.
