Re: Problem with 2-node key for StarWind Virtual SAN free

It is not possible to install free version of StarWind to initial hardware servers for a 2-node configuration. It can be installed only inside Hyper-V VM's.
The solution is to create a VM on each server and install free version of StarWind into it.

Re: Free license error

Hi, Dgrunblatt.

If I understand it clearly, you are trying to install free version of StarWind on clustered Hyper-V machines (not on the VM's)?

Re: Why use RAID10 if all data is being replicated with VSAN

Hi guys.

RAID0 grants top performance for sure. And since you always have an actual copy of data using StarWind it's safe enough I believe.
Of course, it's better to have a spare HDD for a quick replacement to minimize server downtime and possible risks, but it's up to you anyways.

Re: Error license

Hello Omnividente, These kinds of errors usually mean that you are doing something wrong. What StarWind build are you attempting to install? Are you running StarWind on the same machine where the client application is (Hyper-V, VMware, etc)? Are you attempting to install StarWind on the physical par...

Re: Starwind free version

Hi Dpetrek,

There is no HA device size limit in free version. It was removed a while ago. I am not sure about any other significant changes.
Anyways the document you've linked seems to be actual.
