Excellent! Thanks a lot for sharing with us and our customers. No problem. Got to do something to earn my complementary licenses  Just some background about this that may be helpfull. I have been looking to get rid of Zonealarm for a while now. The reason being the high CPU usage under high ...

I got it fixed.

I had to create an "outbound" service rule to remote port 3260.

Appears the the AVG firewall has some 'usability' problems or it could be user ID-10-T error.

I have tried all sorts of configurations to try and get this working. Service ports, program access rights and all that stuff. The only thing that works is de-activating the firewall completely! Looks like some kinda incompatability problem (or stupid user). I am using a 30-day trial of the AVG 7.1 ...

Any known problems with AVG firewall?

I can share and access SW devices with AVG firewall OK

But I cannot use SP to access any remote devices.
I always get 'Semaphore timeout expired'.

Everything works fine with ZoneAlarm.

SW 3.1 does not like my SW 3.0 key

I have only just got round to installing SW 3.1.

Now it says my license is invalid. The license worked ok on SW 3.0.

Did you change to key routines?

OK, we've created 64-bit version for you. Would you like to take part in pre-release test of it? Please let us know by e-mail so we'd provide you with download URL. Thanks! I have a WinXP Pro 64-bit system to test on 8) I thought that under 64-bit all drivers also have to be native 64-bit. That mea...

allow TCP/IP port 3261 for incoming connections too.
Yep, that's what was missing.

All works OK now. I'll give the 'zebedee' thing another go tomorrow.

Thanks.

Actually I might not be a stupid as I thought  I seem even without 'zebedee' that the Windows Server 2003 firewall is not allowing me to connect remotely. I have tried adding the service port 3260 (TCP and UDP) but it still doesn't work. If I disable the firewall I can connect OK. What firewa...

Well I had a go at getting 'zebedee' working but failed.

I have no idea how to setup the configuration to do what I need.
It's all to technical and confusing for me :?

Perhaps somebody with a bigger brain could have a go and then let me know what to do.

You could use zebedee to tunnel iscsi - zebedee is a generic TCP tunnel that supports zlib compression. I'm not sure if it will speed things up though... you could give it a try. google for neil winton zebedee Hmmm, interesting. I will have a look into that. I have not put much effort into making m...

Try this:

Code: Select all

add "\\.\PhysicalDrive0" "Test" -share:"r" -sessions:"20" -readonly:"yes"
Also, you could be restricted by your license type.
You may only be allowed 1 client to connect to StarWind.

For the development purpose quite oftenthere's a need to invest into the hardware most of the people would not have hands over for years!
Yeah right, of course :)

Absolutely nothing to do with playing DOOM3 at all.
Purely for development purposes, I can see that.
